The Court of Appeals is based in Milan, exercising its jurisdiction in a territorial area that is called the District, specifically extending to the western part of Lombardy. Also operating within the District are the Supervisory Court, the Juvenile Court, the Court for Ministers, and the Regional Court of Public Waters.

Three Supervisory Offices operate in Milan, Pavia and Varese, which have jurisdiction over the execution of sentences and supervise jails.
