Cartabia Reform

Federica Liparoti was a speaker at the webinar 'Criminal Mediation and Restorative Justice in the Cartabia Reform':

On 30 June, the 'Cartabia Reform' regulations on restorative justice came into force. During the meeting, Attorney-at-law Federica Liparoti illustrated the origins and defined the concept of "restorative justice", with particular attention to European and supranational legislation. She then analysed the discipline of articles 42-67 of legislative decree 150/2022, which introduced the organic discipline of restorative justice into our legal system, with particular attention to the first measures adopted by the Courts and Courts of Appeal. Attorney-at-law Diletta Stendardi, a criminal mediator, after illustrating the different types of restorative justice programmes (mediation, conferences, circles, etc.) went into detail on how criminal mediation is carried out in the light of the Reform. Introduction and conclusions were delivered by Gennaro Grimolizzi, journalist for 'Il Dubbio', who highlighted the potential, challenges and open problems of the new institution.
