regulatory measures to combat violence against women and protect victims’. The measure introduces a new article 577-bis into the Criminal Code concerning the crime of femicide, which punishes with life imprisonment anyone who causes the death of a woman by committing the act through discrimination, hatred or abuse of power, or through acts of control, possession or domination of the victim as a woman. Furthermore, the crime of femicide is also considered to have been committed when the murder is committed in relation to the woman's refusal to establish or maintain a romantic relationship or as an act of limiting her individual freedoms. Provides for the introduction of a series of aggravating circumstances for certain types of “red code” offences, where these are committed in the manner established for the offence of femicide under Article 577-bis of the Criminal Code. -A series of amendments are also made to the Code of Criminal Procedure and to the implementing, coordinating and transitional provisions of the same code, including, among others, those concerning precautionary measures and the strengthening of communication obligations to the victim. it intervenes in the system for granting prison benefits to those convicted of the new crime of femicide and other types of crimes expressing gender-based violence, making it subject to a positive judicial assessment of the results of scientific observation of the personality of the prisoner or inmate, conducted for at least one year.
